A Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) is required for measures that restrict traffic or parking in some way, either for safety, to improve accessibility, to prevent damage or to maintain the local environment, e.g. double yellow lines. 

Consultation periods for proposals last 21-28 days during which time you can raise objections.

NEWPORT CITY COUNCIL (CENTRAL AREA, NEWPORT) (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2022 VARIATION NO.1 ORDER 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that Newport City Council in exercise of its powers under section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and any other enabling powers intends to make an order the effect of which will be to vary the Newport City Council (Central Area, Newport) (Prohibition of Driving ) Order 2022 to permit vehicles delivering goods to adjacent premises and vehicles displaying a valid disabled person’s badge to proceed in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice between the hours of 5pm and 11am the following day only.

NEWPORT CITY COUNCIL(B4245 MAGOR ROAD (PART), NEWPORT) (30MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2024

NOTICE In making this order the Council has given thorough consideration to its duty under S122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to secure the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of vehicular, and other traffic.

The introduction of a 30 mph speed limit on the length of road specified within this order will reduce vehicle speeds, improving road safety as well as conditions for vehicles entering and exiting this section of the B4245 Magor Road.
