The New Lahore

Opened in 1961, this is the oldest established Indian restaurant in Newport. The New Lahore has undergone an extensive refurbishment programme and now curry dishes can be served in either traditional (old style) or contemporary (new style).

Best Curry House in Wales

The New Lahore was named the Best Curry House in Wales by the Sunday Telegraph in July 2014, the only Indian restaurant in Wales to be named in a list of top 20 British curry houses, ranking fourth, ahead of top Mayfair restaurants!

The reviewer praised the restaurant’s enthusiastic staff and described it as “the perfect place to dine out...boasting exceptional flavour and enthusiastic but not overbearing service.”
