Step 5: Ceremony choices

The legal bits...

There are legal words you must say and you will need two witnesses over the age of 16 present at the ceremony.

The rest is up to you...

We are justifiably proud of the warm welcome and professional service we provide.

Our experienced staff will be able to guide you and you will have plenty of opportunity to personalise your ceremony.

You can choose from our range of personal vows or you may wish to write your own vows - if you do, we will need to approve them in advance.

A lovely way to enhance your ceremony is to invite a friend or family member to read for you - this could be a poem, song lyrics or an excerpt from a book that is meaningful to you, we have lots of options for you to consider if you are not sure which to select.

We can provide music, or some couples prefer to bring their own.

Please note that there cannot be any religious references in the readings or music.

At the Mansion House, floral displays are provided in our ceremony rooms but you may provide your own if you wish.

Our picturesque garden has a stone bench providing an ideal photo opportunity for couples.

It is now possible to hold a weekday ceremony on the lawn, depending on the time of day and subject to advance booking (please note, this is a standing event only).

Please remember to care for our environment and use biodegradeable confetti in the grounds.
