Mayor's stepping out for his charity

Posted on Tuesday 30th March 2021

Newport's Mayor is undertaking a solo sponsored walk around an historic Newport landmark in aid of Alzheimer's Cymru.

Councillor Tom Suller will be doing as many laps of Tredegar House as he can on 7 April to raise money for his chosen charity.

"A lot of our traditional fundraising activities haven't been able to take place this year so I decided a solo sponsored walk would be ideal.

"Alzheimer's Cymru is very close to my heart for personal reasons and it's an excellent charity that offers a wide range of support services to ensure people do not have to face the challenges of this devastating illness on their own.

"It also campaigns for change and funds research into finding a cure. Newport is officially a dementia friendly city and I hope residents will help me support this wonderful charity."

Councillor Suller is Newport's 388th mayor and his term of office ends in May.
