Disabled children

If your child has a disability and you need help, contact Newport City Council's duty team who will pass the referral to the disabled children’s team. 

The disabled children’s team provides services to disabled children and their families until the young person reaches the age of eighteen.  

We'll assess your child's needs so that we understand what services would be most suitable.

Eligibility criteria is used so that those in greatest need receive help.

Information and support is available for unpaid carers and parents of children with additional needs and/or disabilities. This includes the offer of a Carers Assessment. Read more about our support for carers.

Buddies Together

Can you spare a few hours a week to help disabled children and young people?

We’re looking for people aged 17 and over who can give a few hours a week to make a real difference to the lives of disabled children and young people.

Buddies Together is a group of volunteers supporting young people to take part in fun activities.
