Trading Standards
COVID-19 Update
We are temporarily waiving the ‘paid for advice fees’ for food businesses at this uncertain time. If you are:
- Changing the way you provide food
- Changing what food you provide
- Offering takeaways for the first time
- Commencing deliveries
- Offering new online ordering services
- Offering food to the elderly or vulnerable, or
- Providing cook-chill style meals for the first time
We can support you by helping to ensure that these new foods are made safely and described correctly.
Please email trading.standards@newport.gov.uk for allergens, standards and labelling queries, and environmental.health@newport.gov.uk for food hygiene and safety matters.
